Wangechi Mutu

Wangechi Mutu is a Kenyan American visual artist working across painting, sculpture, film, and performance. Her practice explores themes of gender, cultural trauma, and environmental destruction, often focusing on the female body through collage and immersive installation. Currently, she maintains studios in Nairobi and Brooklyn, where she has lived and worked for over two decades.
