Whitney Battle-Baptiste

Whitney Battle-Baptiste is an American historical archaeologist of African and Cherokee descent. She serves as an associate professor at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and as the director of the W.E.B. Du Bois Center. Her research examines the intersections of race, gender, class, and sexuality through an archaeological lens, and she currently serves as the president of the American Anthropological Association.
