William Herschel

Frederick William Herschel was a German-British astronomer and composer who emigrated to Britain in 1757. Born in the Electorate of Hanover, he initially pursued a career in music, following his father into the military band of Hanover. Throughout his professional life, he frequently collaborated with his younger sister, the astronomer Caroline Herschel, while contributing significantly to the fields of astronomy and optics.
