Witold Gombrowicz

Witold Gombrowicz (1904–1969) was a Polish writer and playwright known for his deep psychological analysis and use of paradox. His 1937 debut novel, Ferdydurke, established his recurring focus on the themes of immaturity, the formation of identity through social interaction, and a critical examination of class structures within Polish culture.
