Memorial 029 cover

Memorial 029

by

Tokyo: self-published, 1982. First edition. Softcover with photo-illustrated wraps, (210)pp., 7.25 x 10 inches. Very good. Some rubbing to wraps, mild wear and creasing at edges and spine. Pages have slight toning along edges, spine moderately sun faded. Binding is square and tight. Scarce in any condition. Includes photocopy of typewritten "letter" addressed to the manager of Foto Gallery: " Dear sir, Enclosed, please find a copy of my photo album, my first personal publication. These photographs were taken in the last 12 years and were published as a memorial of my works in my twenties. The number "029" in the title means that I was 29 years old then. The date of the publication is my 30th birthday. The subtitle on the front page roughly means "Tokyo, Love, Affection, But..." I am a free-lance photographer working in Tokyo mainly for magazines for women. I hail from Kochi prefecture, a southern district in Shikoku island of Japan and moved to Tokyo when I was 18 years old. I believe these shots make a document of my impressions on Tokyo since then. I would be grateful if you would like to add this album to the collection of your gallery. Yours faithfully, Mutsuko Yoshida (Mrs.) "
