Polymode Type Specimen

The Polymode Specimen introduces XYZ Type's variable type family through a publication that explores the range and flexibility of the design system. Drawing on the visual language of the Whole Earth Catalog and the exhibition catalog Graphic Design: Now in Production , the specimen demonstrates Polymode's shifting personalities through a sequence of layouts, typographic experiments, and applications. The double-sided poster-publication, which presents satirical references to graphic design history and contemporary design culture positions the work as both a type specimen and a commentary on the conventions of design publishing.
