Founded in 1828 and based in Budapest, Akadémiai Kiadó serves as the publishing house for the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. It is a prominent publisher of scientific monographs and journals, with the latter managed under the AKJournals brand. The company is majority-owned by the Amsterdam-based conglomerate Wolters Kluwer, while the Hungarian Academy of Sciences retains a minority stake.
