HERE: A World Poem by Tishani Doshi

By Tishani Doshi and Atelier Carvalho Bernau This book is a celebration of cultural diversity, as well as a presentation of the Typotheque typeface collection, both current and upcoming fonts. Indian poet Tishani Doshi wrote the poem to an exact word count — one word for each page — based on the number of languages that Typotheque fonts support. Typotheque then reached out to a wide community to translate each word of the poem into 162 languages. Designed by Atelier Carvalho Bernau, printed in 11 Pantone colors, the book contains an introduction to 21 world writing script, as well as short texts about cultural diversity, optical spacing, designing related font families, an intro to the Brahmic scrips, a history of sans serif type, and type design beyond a single script. Includes a note about the ambitious design and typesetting of this beautiful specimen. Selected as one of the Best Dutch Book Designs 2021 , and awarded the Certificate of Typographic Excellence from TDC, Type Directors Club in New York.
