Max Dudler: Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm Centre, The New Central Library of the Humboldt University in Berlin (English and German Edition)

The Jacob und Wilhelm Grimm Centre -- Germany’s largest open-access library, which opened in 2009 at Berlin’s Humboldt University -- is a conceptual work of urban architecture of sculptural proportions. The design reflects the university’s status as a world-renowned institution with a long tradition yet a modern approach to instruction and research. The ten-story structure has already become a Berlin landmark. At the center of the building, shielded from the noise of the city, is the Central Reading Room, with seating for 252 readers.
